Rusty Russell holds extensive OEM experience from his career with Gough and Gilmour NSW – Cadia mine site and other locations, Hastings Deering – Ok Tedi mine site PNG, Ferryros CAT Peru – Antamina mine site. Across his career with various Caterpillar dealers Rusty developed extensive skills and experience in maintenance of the Caterpillar mining product. This was continued in 2005 when Rusty returned from overseas and started Double R which initially focused on providing maintenance support the Thiess Wilpinjong fleet of Caterpillar and Hitachi equipment. Since then the Company has grown to 3 branches supporting the NSW coal fields, Southern QLD gas regions, Goldfield and Pilbara regions of WA. Rusty holds 20 year’s experience.

Supporting the Northern Goldfield customers and the Leinster team, Tim holds 14 years trade and mine site experience in NSW and WA including over five years with Double R. Tim ensures delivery of quality workshop repairs and field support to our extensive Leinster client base. Tim Wells is a dedicated technician, quality is everything to Tim in addition to a clean work space or ute.

Karl is one of the best tradesman in his field, excelling in those hard to diagnose troubleshooting challenges. He holds extensive knowledge across a vast range of makes and models which he draws upon in his supervision role as Leading Hand of the Karratha Workshop. He works closely with the Karratha team to ensure quality control.

Pete has many years experience in the transport industry in both logistics and maintenance. He knows that the customers vehicle are often the heart of their business operations and as a result he delivers outstanding customer service. Extensive trade experience in maintenance and repair of transport industry truck fleets and a knack for getting the most out of his team ensure that Pete delivers on customers expectations.

Dennis heads up the Karratha branch leading the skilled team of trades people and support staff to meet client’s needs at the Karratha workshop and at various sites throughout the Pilbara and further North West regions. With a transport industry background, Dennis has extensive experience in fleet maintenance from a couple of LVs through to fleets of over 100 units of roadtrains and ancillary earthmoving equipment. Dennis’s knowledge of best practice fleet maintenance with additional Heavy Vehicle wheel alignment experience further adds to his ability to develop lasting customer relationships and deliver professional team leadership.

Nathan has proven leadership and trade skills with exposure to all Double R branches over his five years with the Company. With Double R, Nathan has supported mining companies at Mudgee, civil construction projects in southern QLD, equipment owners in Karratha and supported Leinster as Branch Manager in 2015 and 2016.
Nathan now provides support to the Mudgee team and customer base as the Mudgee Branch Leading Hand. He is even the recipient of the Mudgee Clock Awards “Young Gun” Award 2016.

Jake is a valued leader of Double R and delivers quality results to our clients through commitment to service and commitment of the team. Jake has experience from heavy transport and the mining industry including time at Moolarben, Wilpinjong and Ulan Surface Operations. He holds extensive experience of Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi and Liebherr equipment with a track record of making it happen and meeting and exceeding the customers’ expectations. Jake also runs our RTA Inspection Station. Jake has 15 year’s experience in the mining industry and holds Supervisor, Coaching and Cert III in Business qualifications as well as being a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic.

James heads up the Mudgee Branch. He excels, both a manger and experienced trades person. James has developed into one of the most experienced diesel fitters from a career exposure to contractor’s equipment that requires that little bit extra to make it happen, to leading the large Double R team in both the Branch Manager and Operations Manager roles. James holds extensive equipment and site experience. James has over 15 years’ experience in the industry and well over five years with Double R.
